This aligns with the climatological average high of 67°F for the date, drawn from 1991–2020 normals, and current morning observations around 46°F at 7 a.m. showing typical diurnal warming under light southerly flows. Model ensembles from NOAA support sustained highs in the low 70s, with historical data indicating sub-60°F maxima occur less than 5% of the time in early May. Realistic challenges include an unexpected influx of cooler air from isolated severe thunderstorms or a rapid model shift toward increased cloud cover, though fresh hourly updates from Denver International Airport will refine trajectories by afternoon.
