Persistent heat across North Texas, with National Weather Service forecasts calling for mostly clear skies, light southeast winds, and overnight lows in the upper 70s to around 80°F on September 16, underpins trader focus on bins near 80-81°F and 82-83°F. Recent model runs show limited radiational cooling due to high dew points near 70°F and a strong subtropical ridge suppressing typical September nocturnal drops below the 70°F climatological average. While historical records include lows as cool as 46°F, current conditions and ensemble guidance favor minimum temperatures well above seasonal norms, aligning with the market-implied emphasis on the warmest outcomes despite some dispersion in shorter-range guidance. Updated NWS briefings and next model cycle will refine resolution thresholds.
