**Bruce Blakeman, the Republican nominee and incumbent Nassau County executive, holds an 86.5% implied probability of carrying Nassau County in the November 3, 2026, New York gubernatorial election, while Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul sits at 12.5%.** Blakeman’s strong local positioning stems from consecutive victories in the suburban Long Island county, including a decisive 2025 re-election as county executive that outperformed broader Republican results elsewhere in the state. His focus on public safety, immigration enforcement partnerships with federal authorities, and local tax and affordability measures has built a durable base among Nassau voters, where the electorate has shown greater receptivity to Republican candidates than the statewide average. Hochul maintains a solid statewide lead of roughly 10–20 points in recent polling averages, but those margins shrink sharply on Long Island; one June 2026 Newsday/Siena survey showed Blakeman ahead of Hochul in Nassau by five points. With both candidates having secured their nominations without primary opposition in June, the race has settled into a general-election contest in which Nassau’s distinct suburban dynamics continue to favor the home-county Republican. Minor-party and write-in candidates register negligible support in available data, leaving the outcome in the county largely between the two major-party nominees.
