This market will resolve to "Yes" if Anthropic's next Claude Opus model is made available to the general public between market creation and the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Claude Opus refers to a model by Anthropic explicitly named Opus. Qualifying models include Claude Opus 5.6, Claude Opus 6, or any other Opus variants released after market creation. Models under any other name, such as Sonnet, Haiku, Fable, or Mythos, will not qualify, unless the model is explicitly and officially named Opus by Anthropic. Claude Opus 5.5, released on September 22, 2026, and any snapshot, rollout, re-release, reasoning or speed mode, or other variant of it will not qualify. A qualifying model must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice. The release must either be clearly defined and publicly announced by Anthropic as accessible to the general public, or otherwise be made publicly accessible and explicitly labeled on the company's official website. Labeling errors, placeholder text, or version names displayed on the website that do not correspond to a model that is actually accessible to the general public will not qualify. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Anthropic, with additional verification from a consensus of credible reporting.Anthropic’s rapid release cadence for its flagship Claude Opus models drives trader sentiment on the next version, with Opus 5.5 launching just two days ago on September 22 as a cost-efficient upgrade delivering Fable 5.1-level performance on most tasks at 40% lower cost than Opus 5. The July 24 Opus 5 debut and May Opus 4.8 update established a pattern of major Opus iterations every 6–10 weeks, fueled by competition from OpenAI’s GPT series and internal pushes for agentic coding, safety improvements, and efficiency ahead of a planned IPO. Upcoming Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 releases in the coming weeks could signal further 5-series momentum, though any shift toward a full Opus 6 or equivalent would likely hinge on benchmark gains or regulatory developments.
