Incumbent Republican Greg Steube seeks re-election in Florida's 17th congressional district, a seat rated Solid Republican with a partisan voting index around R+10. The district encompasses conservative-leaning areas in Sarasota, Charlotte, and Lee counties, where voters have consistently supported GOP candidates by wide margins in recent cycles. Limited Democratic primary competition ahead of the August 2026 contests and Steube's established incumbency reinforce trader consensus around a Republican hold. A substantial shift would require unusual developments such as major redistricting, an incumbent scandal, or an unexpectedly strong Democratic national wave altering turnout patterns in this battleground region.
