Incumbent Republican Andrew Clyde secured renomination with 76 percent in the May 2026 primary against limited opposition, while Democrat Caitlyn Gegen advanced as her party's nominee. Georgia's 9th district has consistently delivered large Republican margins, with Clyde winning 69 percent in 2024, and nonpartisan forecasters rate the seat Solid or Safe Republican ahead of the November general election. The substantial gap in fundraising and the district's partisan composition underpin trader consensus around a Republican outcome. A late national shift in voter sentiment, an unforeseen scandal involving the incumbent, or unusually high Democratic turnout could narrow the margin, though historical patterns and current structural factors make such changes improbable within the resolution window.
