**Traders assign a 97.1% probability to “No” on an outright first-round winner in Louisiana’s 6th congressional district because the November 3 jungle primary features a crowded, fragmented field of roughly ten candidates following redistricting and the withdrawal of incumbent Democrat Cleo Fields.** The new map favors Republicans, yet the GOP vote is split among state senators Blake Miguez and Rick Edmonds plus several lesser-known Republicans, while Democrats Chauna Banks, Pat Forbes, and Lindsay Garcia divide the remaining support. An August poll showed the top candidate at under 19% with 40% undecided, confirming no one is positioned near a majority. Louisiana’s majority-vote system requires over 50% to avoid a December runoff, a threshold historical multi-candidate open primaries in the state have rarely met. Realistic shifts could occur only through rapid candidate consolidation, an unexpected late surge by one contender, or unusually high turnout favoring a single frontrunner, though current polling averages and fundraising patterns make such consolidation unlikely before November.
