Republican incumbent Scott DesJarlais secured his party's nomination in the August 2026 primary for Tennessee's 4th congressional district, facing Democrat Victoria Broderick in the November general election. The district's strong Republican tilt, reflected in a Cook Political Report Solid R rating and an estimated 24-point Trump margin under the 2026 map, underpins trader consensus favoring the GOP nominee. Redistricting adjustments that added portions of Nashville did not materially alter the underlying partisan composition. DesJarlais's long tenure since 2010 and primary performance provide incumbency advantages in a low-competition environment. A Democratic upset would require substantial shifts in turnout patterns or unforeseen events within the remaining campaign window.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
