Chen Ting-fei holds an 85% implied probability as the Tainan mayoral winner due to her January 2026 Democratic Progressive Party primary victory and the party's uninterrupted control of the city since 1997. As the DPP nominee facing Kuomintang legislator Hsieh Lung-chieh, who trails in head-to-head polling, Chen benefits from established voter alignment in this DPP stronghold ahead of the November 28 local elections. Recent March surveys showed her leading by roughly five points despite Hsieh narrowing the margin, while lower-priced alternatives like Lin Chun-hsien and Lin Yi-feng reflect their non-nominated status. Traders' consensus incorporates the structural advantages of incumbency patterns and party registration dynamics over the remaining campaign period.
