Tom Begich leads the Alaska governor primary market at 62.5% because he is the sole prominent Democratic candidate in the August 18 nonpartisan blanket primary, where the top four advance under ranked-choice rules to the general election. As former state Senate minority leader with the strongest fundraising totals and endorsements from groups including Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates–Alaska, he benefits from unified Democratic support while Republican contenders such as Click Bishop, Dave Bronson, Adam Crum, Treg Taylor, and Shelley Hughes split the opposing vote across more than a dozen filings. Early voting is already underway, candidate forums have highlighted Begich’s profile, and the compressed timeline before primary day has reinforced trader consensus around his first-place positioning amid the crowded field.
