Donald Norcross, the five-term Democratic incumbent, secured his party's nomination in the June 2026 primary and holds a commanding lead in the November 3 general election for New Jersey's 1st congressional district. The seat's heavy Democratic tilt—reflected in voter registration and consistent prior results, including 57.8% in 2024—combined with Norcross's substantial campaign cash advantage exceeding $2.1 million, underpins trader consensus on a Democratic outcome. Limited Republican resources and the absence of competitive primary challenges further reinforce this positioning. A major scandal, health issue affecting the incumbent, or an unusually strong national Republican midterm surge could narrow the margin, though the district's structural lean makes such shifts improbable without extraordinary developments.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
