Fuerza Popular (FP) secured the largest bloc of seats in Peru’s newly restored 60-seat Senate during the April 12–13, 2026, general election, establishing a clear plurality that aligns with the current 99.5% trader consensus. The return to bicameralism after more than three decades shaped voter and party strategies, with FP outperforming rivals including APP, AvP, PL, and others across the nationwide vote. Official tallies have held firm following the rejection of annulment petitions by the National Jury of Elections, leaving limited procedural avenues for reversal before final certification. While late-stage recounts or institutional disputes remain theoretically possible, no developments since the vote have altered the seat distribution enough to challenge FP’s leading position.
