South Korea's 2026 annual CPI inflation market shows the 2.7-2.9% range leading at 37.9% implied probability, reflecting recent data and official forecasts. Headline inflation accelerated to 3.2% in June 2026 from 3.1% in May, the highest since late 2023, driven by elevated petroleum and transport costs amid Middle East tensions and a weaker won. The Bank of Korea raised its 2026 projection to 2.7% and hiked the base rate in July, citing sustained cost pressures and rising demand-side inflation from wages and services. Government forecasts were also lifted to 2.6%, with expectations of moderation in the second half tempered by ongoing energy and currency risks. Market-implied odds cluster around these revised baselines while assigning meaningful weight to upside scenarios above 3.0%.
