Anastasia Potapova, now competing under the Austrian flag as a former 2023 Linz champion with quarterfinal runs in 2024-2025, advanced in straight sets over Zhang Shuai but carries an uneven 8-8 ledger for the year amid ranking volatility at No. 97. Korpatsch leads their head-to-head 1-0 from a 2019 Lausanne clay encounter, positioning this stylistic clash—defensive grinding versus power baseline—as closely contested, with both players' recent Linz adaptation key on the tournament's debut clay surface.
