Persistent high-pressure ridging over the southern Plains has sustained above-average temperatures across North Texas, with National Weather Service and model guidance consensus pointing to a maximum near 100°F in Dallas on September 9 under clear skies and southerly flow at 5–10 mph. This setup favors strong daytime heating while limiting cloud cover or precipitation that could cap the peak, though variable boundary-layer moisture may influence the precise reading. Recent observations show consecutive days at or above 100°F, well above the 1991–2020 average high of 91.5°F for the date, reinforcing trader focus on the 100–101°F bin. Minor forecast adjustments from updated model runs could still shift outcomes within the narrow 98–102°F range before official verification.
