Recent forecasts from sources like the National Weather Service and private models indicate a typical late-September marine layer pattern for Los Angeles, with morning low clouds and fog giving way to partly cloudy skies and southwest winds of 10-15 mph. This setup supports afternoon highs most likely in the upper 70s to mid-80s, aligning with the market's clustered probabilities around the 78-81°F bins. Historical averages near 76°F and recent daily observations in the same range reinforce the consensus, while model spread on cloud cover timing and wind strength creates the tight distribution across adjacent outcomes. Updated NWS guidance on September 24 will provide the key data point ahead of resolution.
