Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate a Thursday high in the upper 70s to low 80s for Los Angeles, driven by a shallow marine layer and returning onshore flow that limits afternoon warming after Wednesday’s peak. Weak upper-level troughing and light southwesterly winds are expected to keep coastal temperatures near seasonal averages around 76–79°F, with morning low clouds and fog potentially delaying peak heating. Traders weigh these factors against historical September variability and slight model spread on exact marine layer depth, concentrating implied probabilities on the 76–79°F bins while noting any last-minute forecast revisions from the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard office could shift outcomes.
