**Forecast models from the National Weather Service and private sources project a high of 96–97°F for Houston on September 22 under sunny skies with light southeast winds and minimal cloud cover.** This aligns with the market’s leading 44% implied probability for that bin, as persistent high pressure and a lingering warm air mass have sustained above-normal temperatures through mid-September. Recent NWS updates show stable guidance with highs in the mid-to-upper 90s and only slight afternoon thunderstorm chances that are unlikely to cap the daily maximum. Historical September averages near 88°F highlight the current anomaly, while the expected pattern shift and cooler air arrive after the 22nd. Traders appear to be weighting the consensus official forecasts heavily, with limited room in pricing for outliers above 100°F or below 94°F given the tight model agreement.
