Current NWS point forecasts for downtown Los Angeles indicate a sunny Saturday with a high near 85°F under southwesterly flow and minimal cloud cover, driven by strong daytime insolation and limited marine-layer intrusion, while coastal sites like LAX trend cooler near 77°F. This setup reflects typical September subsidence and onshore advection patterns moderated by relatively cool Pacific sea-surface temperatures. Trader consensus clustering tightly on 78–81°F ranges likely stems from model spread in boundary-layer mixing depth and exact timing of any stratus burn-off, alongside historical September 5 averages around 77°F. Updated model runs and NWS briefings ahead of resolution will clarify whether stronger onshore flow or clearer skies shift the daily maximum across the 80°F threshold.
