Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus project a highest temperature in New York City on September 16 near 78–79°F, driven by high pressure promoting subsidence and clear to partly cloudy skies with light southerly winds. This setup favors modest warming above the late-summer climatological average of roughly 76°F without triggering stronger heat advection or convective cooling. Stable model runs over the past 24 hours have reinforced this range, limiting shifts toward the lower-probability 80°F+ or sub-76°F bins. Traders appear to weight the official guidance and historical analogs heavily, with resolution hinging on the final 24-hour maximum observation at Central Park.
