Persistent northeasterly flow and mostly cloudy conditions are keeping New York City temperatures suppressed, with National Weather Service and private model consensus showing highs of 66–68°F for September 24 under continued breezy northeast winds and limited afternoon heating. This setup explains the market’s tight clustering around the 66–69°F bins, as traders weigh the risk of modest clearing that could allow brief warming into the low 70s against the more likely stable cool regime. Historical September averages near 72°F highlight the current anomaly driven by the entrenched wind pattern, while small differences in forecast timing of any cloud breaks create the observed spread across adjacent outcome ranges. Updated model runs and the final NWS forecast discussion ahead of the date will provide the next key data points for resolution.
