Bruce Blakeman, the Republican nominee and Nassau County Executive, holds an 86.5% implied probability of carrying Nassau County in the November 2026 New York gubernatorial election, compared with 13.5% for Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul. Traders price the county as a Republican stronghold due to Blakeman’s strong local record, including his 2025 re-election victory there by double digits, and Nassau’s recent pattern of backing GOP candidates in statewide races such as 2022. Hochul’s position reflects weaker suburban performance amid statewide polling trends showing her lead narrowing to 10 points or less in recent Siena surveys, with independents and suburban voters showing more openness to the challenger. Minor candidates and “other” options remain low-probability alternatives with negligible local traction. No major late-August or early-September developments have altered this county-level positioning ahead of the general election.
