Recent National Weather Service guidance points to a high near 91°F in Houston on September 17 under partly sunny skies, with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly after 1pm. This setup favors afternoon convection that could limit peak heating through increased cloud cover and evaporative cooling, keeping the daily maximum in the upper 80s to low 90s. Model consensus shows modest spread tied to the timing and coverage of seabreeze-driven storms, while climatological September highs average near 90°F. Traders weigh these factors against the narrow spread between 88–89°F and 90–91°F bins, where small forecast shifts in instability or steering winds could determine the exact maximum. Updated model runs and afternoon observations will refine the outcome ahead of market resolution.
