Polymarket traders, wagering real capital, price an 80.5% implied probability for no Federal Reserve rate change at the July 28-29, 2026 FOMC meeting, reflecting the central bank's cautious stance amid sticky inflation and a resilient labor market. March 2026 nonfarm payrolls surged 178,000—exceeding forecasts—while unemployment edged down to 4.3%, bolstering the Fed's current 3.5%-3.75% federal funds target range held steady at the prior March gathering, where officials projected just one cut for the year amid Iran war-driven energy price volatility. A 12.5% chance of a 25 basis point decrease captures modest easing hopes if inflation cools further, but hikes remain improbable below 4%. Traders eye the April 28-29 FOMC and incoming April data for shifts in this wait-and-see consensus.
