**Trader sentiment for Houston's September 3 high temperature centers on the narrow 86–89°F range (combined ~68.5% implied probability), reflecting official NWS and model guidance showing a high near 89–92°F amid afternoon convection.** Persistent humidity, south-southeast flow, and 40–70% chances of showers or thunderstorms—especially after midday—introduce cooling via cloud cover, evaporative effects, and timing of peak heating. This caps the maximum below clearer-sky potential while still allowing readings in the upper 80s to low 90s. Heat indices near 100–106°F underscore the moisture load but do not alter the dry-bulb forecast. With resolution only ~48 hours away, updates from the NWS Houston/Galveston office and short-range model runs (e.g., temperature and PoP trends) will drive any shifts. Historical September averages near 89°F provide context, yet the current setup favors the market's emphasis on the 88–89°F bin as the most probable outcome under prevailing conditions.
