**Trader consensus on Cape Town’s September 2 minimum temperature centers on the narrow 8–9 °C band, with notable support also for 7 °C or lower, reflecting uncertainty in overnight radiative cooling under southerly flow.** Current model guidance indicates the coldest hours (roughly 03:00–07:00 SAST) will feature light southerly winds off the Benguela Current, dew points near 9–11 °C, and variable low-level cloud that modulates long-wave heat loss. Clearer intervals could allow surface temperatures to drop an extra degree or two below the 10–12 °C baseline, while increased cloud or a modest wind increase would hold the minimum closer to 9–10 °C. Historical climatology for early September shows typical minima of 10–11 °C, so the market-implied distribution embeds the possibility of modestly stronger nocturnal cooling driven by these boundary-layer processes. Fresh model runs and official SAWS observations through the pre-dawn period will resolve the remaining spread.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=fact
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event which there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
