Incumbent Don Davis holds a market edge in the NC-01 rematch despite redistricting that shifted the district to a Republican-leaning R+5 PVI and prompted ratings of Lean Republican or Toss-up from forecasters. Buckhout, a retired Army colonel and Trump-endorsed America First candidate who narrowly lost in 2024, won her March primary and benefits from national Republican attention, including a visit from Speaker Mike Johnson. Davis, an Air Force veteran and former state senator with deep local roots, has matched or exceeded Buckhout in fundraising and maintains narrow leads in available polls. Both candidates have raised roughly $4 million, and the race remains competitive with two months until the November general election. Trader consensus reflects Davis’s incumbency resilience in a rural eastern North Carolina district even after boundary changes.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
