In the event of ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on the official certified referendum results published by Swiss government authorities, such as the Swiss Federal Chancellery (https://www.admin.ch/gov/en/start/documentation/votes/20260308.html) and the information portal provided by the Swiss authorities (https://www.ch.ch/en/votes-and-elections/). Subsequent litigation, administrative challenges, or failure of any post-approval implementation steps will not be considered.Swiss voters face a June 14 referendum on two federal proposals under the country's direct democracy system: the Swiss People's Party's "No to ten-million Switzerland" popular initiative to cap permanent resident population at 10 million by 2050, addressing immigration-driven pressures on housing, infrastructure, and social services; and a mandatory referendum on the Civilian Service Act reform to tighten eligibility for non-military service alternatives, aiming to cut annual transfers from roughly 6,600 to 4,000 amid concerns over armed forces staffing. Recent Swissinfo reports from early April underscore mixed public sentiment, with supporters citing overcrowding and opponents, including the Federal Council and economiesuisse, warning of economic harm from disrupted EU free-movement agreements and labor shortages. No polls since late 2025 show the population cap near 48% support; campaigns are ramping up ahead of the vote requiring a popular majority.
