Trader consensus on the Chicago September 2 high temperature market reflects the latest National Weather Service and NOAA model guidance showing a warm, high-pressure ridge with light southerly flow favoring afternoon highs centered in the low-to-mid 90s. Ensemble spreads create the close probabilities between 90–95°F bins, as small differences in timing of any weak frontal passage or boundary-layer mixing could shift the peak by 2–3°F. Historical climatology for early September places the expected maximum near 82°F, underscoring the anomalous warmth currently priced in; the next model cycles and morning observations will likely tighten ranges ahead of resolution.
