Debbie Wasserman Schultz secured the Democratic nomination in Florida's 20th congressional district after entering the race following Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick's April 2026 resignation, facing a Republican nominee in Brent Andersen for the November general election. The district's established Democratic lean, reflected in its D+20 Partisan Voter Index and consistent 2024 presidential results favoring Democrats by nearly 30 points, underpins trader consensus on a wide margin. Mid-decade redistricting altered boundaries but preserved the seat's core Democratic base in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Forecasts project a 70-30 or larger Democratic advantage, consistent with historical patterns in similar districts. Scenarios that could narrow the gap include a significant scandal, health event, or unusually low Democratic turnout, though none appear imminent based on current indicators.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
