Democrat Christina Bohannan holds a clear edge over incumbent Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Iowa’s 1st district, a rematch of their 2024 contest decided by under 800 votes. Recent July 2026 polling shows Bohannan ahead by five points, consistent with earlier surveys and midterm dynamics that have historically favored the opposition party. Forecasters rate the race a toss-up or lean Democratic, citing the district’s suburban and university-area voters alongside national conditions. An independent candidate splits a modest share of support. Traders price the Democratic outcome at roughly 70 percent, reflecting the narrow prior margin, sustained polling lead, and calendar positioning ahead of the November 3 general election.
