Israeli operations remain focused on consolidating control over a security zone in southern Lebanon, highlighted by the September 11 demolition of a major Hezbollah underground complex at the Ali al-Taher ridge near Nabatieh. The Israeli military has established operational control there and continues strikes in response to Hezbollah drone and rocket activity, while Lebanese forces and the framework agreement for phased withdrawal and army deployment in pilot zones have seen limited progress amid stalled talks now delayed until October. Hezbollah leaders have rejected disarmament provisions, and no verified ground movements or official statements indicate imminent advances toward Beirut itself. These southern priorities, combined with diplomatic efforts and upcoming Israeli elections, shape trader assessments of entry timelines.
