Persistent high pressure and subsidence across the southern Plains are sustaining above-normal temperatures in Dallas, with National Weather Service guidance and model consensus pointing to a maximum near 101–102°F on September 8. This places the market’s leading 100–101°F and 102–103°F bins in alignment with current short-range forecasts. Dew points in the upper 60s to low 70s will elevate heat indices above 105°F, while mostly sunny skies and light southerly flow limit mixing and cloud cover. The pattern has already produced multiple 100°F days in early September, well above the 1991–2020 average high of 92°F for the date. Minor forecast adjustments from new model runs or slight wind shifts remain the main variables that could nudge the observed high between the two leading bins before resolution.
