**Forecast models and recent atmospheric patterns point to a warm day in Guangzhou on September 8, 2026, with maximum temperatures most likely in the 34–36 °C range.** Multiple sources, including WeatherBug, Yr.no, and regional outlooks, project highs near 33–35 °C (roughly 91–95 °F), driven by strengthening high pressure and reduced cloud cover after recent showers. Light northeast winds and moderate humidity are expected to allow daytime heating without extreme moisture suppression. A developing El Niño event is contributing to above-normal temperatures across southern China this September, consistent with Hong Kong Observatory guidance for normal-to-above-normal conditions in the region. Historical September averages for Guangzhou hover around 30–32 °C, so current model consensus represents a modest positive anomaly. Scattered thunderstorms remain possible but are not expected to cap temperatures significantly. Trader emphasis on 35–36 °C outcomes aligns with the upper end of ensemble guidance and the broader warm signal, while lower probabilities for 37 °C+ reflect limited intensification potential under the current steering pattern. Updated model runs and official briefings from the China Meteorological Administration in the next 24–48 hours will provide the clearest signal ahead of the market’s resolution.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=zggg
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
