The Laviolette–Saint-Maurice riding projects as a toss-up between the Parti Québécois candidate Élodie Murphy-Gauthier and the Coalition Avenir Québec nominee Guy Veillette, with other declared contenders including Liberal Laurent Bélisle and Conservative Charles Paquin trailing in market pricing. Provincial polling shows the PQ maintaining a narrow lead overall while the CAQ closes the gap ahead of the October 5 election, producing head-to-head contests in many ridings outside Montreal. Local dynamics in the Mauricie region, including voter shifts from the 2022 CAQ hold, candidate profiles rooted in health services and local media, and late-campaign fluidity with over 40 percent of voters undecided, sustain the tight implied probabilities. Nomination deadlines and final poll releases within the next month could clarify separation between the frontrunners.
