Incumbent Democratic Representative Joyce Beatty secured her party's nomination in the May 2026 primary and enters the November general election as the clear frontrunner in Ohio's 3rd congressional district. The seat, centered in urban Franklin County including portions of Columbus, carries a strong Democratic partisan lean reflected in historical voting patterns and nonpartisan ratings classifying it as solidly Democratic. Beatty's long tenure since 2013 and consistent reelection margins above 70 percent underscore entrenched voter support in the district. The Republican nominee, Cleophus Dulaney, emerged from an uncontested or low-profile primary but faces structural headwinds typical of the seat's electoral math. Trader consensus pricing at these levels aligns with the district's baseline partisan composition, with any shift requiring substantial changes in turnout dynamics or late-cycle developments within the resolution window.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
