The Democratic nominee enters the November general election as the clear favorite in New Hampshire’s 1st congressional district, an open seat previously held by retiring Democrat Chris Pappas. The district’s partisan voting index near D+2, combined with its performance in the 2024 presidential race, underpins trader consensus around an 86 percent implied probability of a Democratic hold. Multiple candidates are competing in the September 8 Democratic primary, while Republican contenders have yet to consolidate support in a district that has favored Democrats in recent cycles. National midterm dynamics and candidate recruitment patterns further reinforce the current pricing, though a strong Republican nominee or shifts in voter turnout could narrow the gap before Election Day.
