Persistent high pressure and southerly flow are sustaining hot, mostly sunny conditions across Central Texas, with National Weather Service guidance projecting a high near 100°F for Austin on August 30 amid heat indices reaching 105–106°F. Recent model runs show minimal cloud cover and low precipitation chances, favoring peak temperatures in the upper 90s to low 100s—consistent with trader emphasis on the 98–101°F brackets—while climatological averages near 95°F and ongoing late-summer warmth provide context. Updated forecasts and any last-minute steering changes will be the key near-term drivers.
