Recent forecast models from multiple sources converge on a maximum of 18–19°C for Cape Town on September 2 under partly cloudy conditions with moderate southerly winds, supporting the market's tight split between 19°C (47%) and 20°C (40.5%). These readings sit slightly above the long-term early-September average high of roughly 18°C, driven by typical spring warming and limited cloud cover that allows greater insolation. Key variables differentiating the leading outcomes include exact timing of peak heating, wind strength from the Atlantic, and any late-day marine layer development that could cap temperatures. Updated model runs and official South African Weather Service guidance expected overnight will likely narrow the range before the daily maximum is recorded.
