**Persistent humidity, cloud cover, and warm advection from southwest flow are keeping overnight lows elevated around 70–73°F for New York City on September 3, 2026, according to National Weather Service and model consensus.** Recent observations show Central Park minima near 67°F on September 1–2 amid mostly cloudy skies and dew points in the mid-60s, with no strong cold-air intrusion yet. Forecasts indicate showers and thunderstorms likely through much of September 3, maintaining a moist boundary layer that limits radiational cooling; winds shifting northwest only after midnight further moderate the drop. This places the expected minimum squarely in the 70–73°F range that dominates market-implied probabilities (72–73°F at 32.5%, 70–71°F at 32.0%). Slightly cooler 68–69°F outcomes (20.5%) would require faster clearing or drier air than currently modeled, while warmer readings reflect the ongoing above-average warmth. Model updates and any shifts in precipitation timing remain the key near-term variables traders are monitoring.
