Chung Tung-chin, the incumbent Miaoli County Magistrate running as an independent, holds an 88.5% implied probability in the November 28, 2026 local election market, reflecting sustained trader consensus around his position. A June 2026 satisfaction survey showed his approval at 69.7%, an 18-point increase year-over-year, underscoring administrative continuity and local support ahead of the vote. The Democratic Progressive Party's nomination of Chen Pin-an registers at just 4.7%, consistent with limited reported momentum for the challenger in a county where independents and Kuomintang-aligned figures have dominated recent magistrate races. KMT organizational activities in mid-2026 across multiple counties have reinforced structural advantages for established officeholders without indicating major shifts specific to Miaoli. Late candidate entries or primary developments remain the primary variables that could still influence outcomes before election day.
