This market will resolve to according to the candidate who wins the 2026 California lieutenant gubernatorial election currently scheduled for November 3, 2026. If the results of the election are not confirmed by July 31, 2027, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on official certification.Fiona Ma's commanding position in the 2026 California lieutenant governor race stems from her top-two primary victory as state treasurer, where she secured the Democratic nomination with strong labor endorsements and broad statewide support. In a state with consistent Democratic registration and voting advantages, traders view her matchup against Republican Gloria Romero— a former Democratic legislator who switched parties—as structurally favorable for the November 3 general election. Recent primary results showed Ma consolidating support ahead of other Democratic contenders like Josh Fryday and Michael Tubbs. While California’s electoral dynamics and Ma’s incumbency in statewide office underpin the current trader consensus, shifts could still arise from unusually low Democratic turnout, late scandals affecting either candidate, or significant national political developments within the resolution window.
