Recent forecasts for Guangzhou point to a highest temperature on September 16 clustered in the 31–33°C range, aligning with the market’s tight distribution around these outcomes. The northeast monsoon is steering scattered showers and thunderstorms across the region, increasing cloud cover that limits solar heating while high humidity sustains warmth. Official guidance from sources such as the China Meteorological Administration and international models shows daytime maxima near the long-term September 16 average of 31.9°C, with precipitation probabilities above 60% likely to cap peaks. Minor model differences in timing and intensity of rain explain the near-even odds between 31°C, 32°C, and 33°C. Updated runs and surface observations in the next 48 hours will refine the exact maximum before resolution.
