Nicolás Maduro faces a June 2027 trial in Manhattan federal court on a four-count superseding indictment charging narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, and related weapons offenses tied to alleged support for designated terrorist organizations. Captured in a January 2026 U.S. military operation and extradited to New York, he and his wife have pleaded not guilty while mounting pretrial challenges to jurisdiction and head-of-state immunity, with motions due in September 2026 and oral arguments set for November. These procedural steps, combined with the extended timeline to December 2027, extensive classified evidence requirements, and historical patterns in complex narcotics prosecutions, underpin traders’ 77% implied probability that convictions will not occur on every count.
