Forecast models from the National Weather Service and private sources indicate Houston will see sunny skies and highs of 95–97°F on September 22, supported by persistent high pressure, light winds, and southerly flow advecting warm, humid Gulf air. This setup has kept recent daily maxima in the mid-90s, roughly 6–8°F above late-September normals, with heat indices near 105°F. The near-even split between 94–95°F and 96–97°F bins reflects minor model spread on peak afternoon readings, driven by subtle differences in boundary-layer mixing and any weak sea-breeze timing. Low precipitation chances (under 20%) and minimal cloud cover limit downside risk, while historical September records above 100°F remain rare this late in the month, keeping higher bins at single-digit implied odds. Updated model runs and afternoon observations will provide the final resolution data.
