Recent unverified rumors of Ren Zhengfei fleeing China by sea, sparked by internal Huawei chat screenshots and vehicle sightings around September 12, have driven trader attention amid Beijing's new exit restrictions effective September 15 that empower authorities to block tech executives over national security or technology transfer concerns. The 81-year-old Huawei founder, long central to US-China chip and AI competition under sanctions, has no confirmed public appearances or statements, though his daughter Annabel Yao's September 14 Beijing press event and social posts partially countered family escape claims without addressing his location. No official Huawei confirmation or credible evidence supports departure, leaving market-implied odds sensitive to any verified sighting, regulatory filing, or company update in the coming weeks.

Both the presence outside China and its confirmation must occur between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. A presence outside China occurring prior to market creation will not qualify, regardless of when it is confirmed.
Ren Zhengfei need not depart China during the market window, nor remain outside China at the time of confirmation. If he was already outside China at market creation, his confirmed presence outside China during the window will qualify; likewise, a confirmed presence during the window will qualify even if he has since returned to China.

If no qualifying confirmation occurs by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No".
The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.
