Mona Barthel enters the WTA 125 Kitzbühel first-round match as a heavy favorite against lower-ranked Austrian wild card Arabella Koller on outdoor clay. The 35-year-old German, ranked around 208 with a career-high of No. 23 and a 20-13 record in 2026, brings extensive WTA-level experience and stronger recent results compared with Koller’s 1016 ranking and minimal tour-level exposure. Both players received wild cards into the inaugural event, but Barthel’s proven clay-court game and deeper match history create a wide gap that traders reflect in heavy pricing. Koller’s home-soil factor offers limited offset against the experience disparity.
