Official National Weather Service forecasts for Austin on September 22 project a high near 99°F under mostly sunny conditions with light east to northeast winds and only a slight afternoon thunderstorm chance. Multiple models converge on upper-90s readings, though small variations in cloud cover, boundary-layer moisture, and wind direction can shift the daily maximum by 1–3°F. This uncertainty keeps the 96–97°F and 98–99°F bins tied at the top of trader-implied odds. Historical September averages near 90°F provide context, but current atmospheric patterns support the elevated range without strong signals for extremes above 100°F or below 95°F. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will likely refine the exact bin.
