Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus point to a Bay Area heat wave setup on September 8, with reduced marine layer influence and limited sea breeze allowing San Francisco highs to reach the upper 70s to low 80s under mostly sunny conditions. Trader emphasis on the 84–87°F range reflects uncertainty around exact peak readings at official stations, historical September variability, and any last-minute shifts in steering patterns or cloud cover that could push readings higher than baseline guidance. Key resolution hinges on verified daily maximum observations, with fresh model runs and NWS updates likely to refine probabilities as the day progresses.
