This market will resolve according to the candidate who receives the most valid votes from Dakota County in the Democratic Primary for U.S. Senate from Minnesota, which is scheduled to be held on August 11, 2026. The named candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates' last names. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If the Dakota County results of this election are not definitively known by December 31, 2026, this market will resolve to "Other." This market will resolve based on a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the government of Minnesota including the Minnesota Secretary of State and the government of Dakota County. The tight trader consensus around the Dakota County outcome in Minnesota’s August 11 Democratic Senate primary reflects the county’s suburban voter base and the broader contest between U.S. Representative Angie Craig and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan. Craig’s emphasis on pragmatic positions, including border security and bipartisan legislation, aligns with moderate preferences in Dakota County, while Flanagan benefits from the state party endorsement, progressive organizing, and endorsements from senators such as Tina Smith. Recent polls show the statewide race within single digits or widening slightly toward Flanagan, with millions in outside spending on both sides and a late July debate highlighting differences on immigration enforcement. Other declared candidates remain long shots, leaving local turnout, early voting patterns, and any final-week shifts in suburban support as the main variables that could separate the two frontrunners in this county.
